Part 7
That night Chrissy stayed awake contemplating her life. She kept on thinking about her relationship with Hunter. Was it over? Or has it been over for some time? What was she going to tell him,"Hun, I fell in love with your roommate while you were gone."? Chrissy sighed and hit herself with a pillow. She finally got out of bed, took a shower, got dressed and walked downstairs where she found Freddie drinking his coffee and reading the paper."Hey", He greeted her and gave her a kiss.
"Wow I get a kiss for waking up. Freddie, where have you been all my life?" She teased as she opened the entertainment and fashion section of the newspaper. "Oh shit! Freddie look at this" She handed him the newspaper. The headline read, "Prinze Charming woos his Cinderella" with a picture of them from the night before making out.
"How the hell did they get this!" Freddie screamed.
"Freddie I could care less about that. I'm worried about Hunter seeing this. I mean what is he going to think" Freddie went over to her and wrapped his arms around her.
"It will be alright. We can't let this get us down. There's still one more day of fun before he comes home." Chrissy shrugged and then smiled.
"Yeah I guess you're right, like always. So I hear that Shakespeare in the Park is here and they're performing Taming of the Shrew, what do you say?" Freddie held out his hand and replied,
"Let us go Milady. The play awaits." Chrissy grabbed her purse and ran out the door as Freddie followed. When the got in the car, Chrissy out of the blue said, "You knew with graduation right around the corner, I have absolutely no idea what I'm going to do." She laughed,
"Hunter had these plans where I'd come and work at his firm but I don't want to do that. I just want to go where the road takes me." Freddie smiled as they parked and walked hand-in-hand to the Greek Theatre in Griffith Park.
They sat down in the back just a few minutes before the play started.
"You know what, I never read the Cliff notes on this. What's it about." Chrissy
couldn't help but laugh.
"You were the slacker in school. You remind me of a friend of mine Ricky. I always had to summarize the story we were supposed to read. Anyway there are 2 sisters, Bianca and Katerina, and all the guys are like in love with Bianca. Here's the dilemma, She can't marry until Katerina, the shrew, does and well no one likes her. Then in an attempt to get Bianca, one suitor, Hortensio, gets his now without benefactor friend, Petruchio, to woo Kat. Well while he is pursuing her, she lets her guard down and he eventually falls for her. One day we'll go see Ten Things I Hate About You." As she turned to Freddie, she could she his confusion.
"How can you know all that off hand. Maybe if I had sat by you in high school, my grades would have seen a drastic change".
"Okay
Romeo, let's watch the play. " His Juliet stated.
When the play ended, Freddie exclaimed,"Wow! Shakespeare is a genius. I mean that story was so true."He ran over and picked up Chrissy and started running with her.
"So what would you like to do now?" Freddie put Chrissy down as she thought a moment and then replied,
"What time is it? Cause I don't want to be out when Hunter comes home." Freddie looked at his watch that read 3:00 PM and pointed to it.
"Okay, well to you mind if we just hang around the house?" Chrissy pleaded.
"Not at all. I mean there are things we can do there that don't involve anything except us." Freddie remarked.
"Yeah, Hunter's coming home and no fooling around until I find a way to tell him." Chrissy said firmly but one look at Freddie's face she caved in.
"Oh all right. We'll just have to be careful. Come on." Freddie then picked her up again and ran to the car.
For what seemed like hours, Chrissy and Freddie laid on the couch watching cartoons. His protective arms forever stayed around her until she broke their silence.
"You know what I feel like doing now? Ice-skating! Wouldn't that be so much fun" I always skate back at school." Freddie grumbled,
"Have you ever seen me on skates? My limbs are lethal weapons. I have no coordination." Chrissy stared him straight in the eye and protested,
"Fine if you don't want to be with me I'll go by myself" As she began walking toward the door, Freddie called out,
"Chrissy, wait I'll go because I can't stand it when you're mad at me." She walked back into his arms and kissed him.
" I knew you wouldn't disappoint me." As she was about to kiss him again, the front door opened.
